Brocklebys Pies
Handmade Pies
Handmade pies made in Melton Mowbray. We travel the country every week attending farmers’ markets, food festivals, and agricultural events, offering you the chance to buy our pies at a venue near you. We also offer four different workshops which include:
Weekend Pork Pie Making and on Weekday Evenings: Pork Pie Making, Bread Making or Sausage Making! Visit our website for more information.
The Jalland family have been farming in and around Melton Mowbray for over 500 years, and in 2003, cattle farmer Ian Jalland founded Brockleby’s. Originally a farm shop in Asfordby Hill, Melton Mowbray, Ian’s aim was to serve the community with high-quality local produce, from his own farm and those of other local farmers.
Being from Melton Mowbray, we naturally produced the authentic pork pie in our shop, and quickly expanded the pie range to over 20 different products. Overwhelmed by the popularity of our pies, we soon began travelling the country to retail them at farmers’ markets and food festivals, as well as at our own shop.
The farm shop at Asfordby Hill closed in 2012 to make way for a bigger bakery, allowing us to make up to 10,000 pies every week. We now travel to approximately 2,500 events every year, selling pies, demonstrating how to make pies, and most importantly championing local produce. Despite the enormous growth, Ian and his family continue to farm cattle to make our delicious steak pies.
Our pies have now won over 30 accolades at the annual British Pie Awards, have been recommended by the Pierateers, and have been featured in numerous publications and television programmes. We’re extremely proud to produce more pies than anyone else in the Borough of Melton, while remaining family-owned, and still supporting local farmers and producers.
